LEED is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. When we began designing the new Nissan of Santa Rosa dealership we began by looking at what we have to do to be accredited at the highest levels by LEED.
When completed the first “green” Nissan dealership in the world, located in Santa Rosa, California will comply with the Gold Standard as defined by LEED. We encourage you to learn more about LEED by going to http://www.usgbc.org

From now until March 2009, we will be diligently reclaiming the building that stood at 555 Santa Rosa Avenue since 1969 and replacing it with an visually pleasing, technologically advanced auto dealership that is sensitive to our staff, our guests, and the community around it that we all call home.

We invite you to check in regularly to see how it’s coming. You can follow along the timeline we have illustrated below. You can also go our video blog page and actually see what we are doing.
